SEO
Getting foundon Google.
The part most website builds skip, then sell back to you three months later. I do it during the build, show you the numbers before and after, and never promise you a position I can't control.
It's been made to sound complicated. It isn't.
In plain words
What SEOactually is.
It's three unglamorous jobs, and the industry has spent twenty years making them sound like magic so it can charge a retainer for them.
- Can Google read your site? Sounds obvious. It usually can't. Services sitting inside images, a page that takes six seconds to load, no sitemap, half the pages never submitted. This is the part that breaks silently.
- Does your site say what people search for? Nobody types "plumbing services". They type "blocked drain" and the name of their town. If your site only ever uses your own industry's words, it can't match.
- Does Google believe you exist locally? Your Google Business Profile, your name, address and phone matched everywhere they appear, and real reviews arriving steadily. This is what decides the map results — and the map results are what most local searches actually show.
That's it. There's no secret. There's just whether it's been done, and almost always it hasn't.
So that's what it is. Here's what I actually do.
What I do
The work,itemised.
Every item here is included in every build. None of it is an upgrade, and none of it is charged separately — if someone quotes you less than me, this is the list worth asking them about.
Pages Google can read and index
Proper headings, real text instead of pictures of text, and a sitemap submitted to Search Console so your pages are actually found.
A real page per service
Written in the words your customers type, not the words your industry uses internally. One page has one job.
Titles and summaries written
The line people read in the search results, written for every page rather than left as whatever the software guessed.
Your Google Business Profile
Claimed, completed, categorised, hours and services filled in, photos added — plus a simple way to keep reviews coming in.
Details matched everywhere
Your name, address and phone number identical across your site, your listing and the directories you're in. Mismatches quietly cost you.
Structured business data
Your details marked up in the format search engines and AI assistants read directly, so they describe you accurately.
Speed treated as a ranking issue
Under two seconds on a phone. Compressed images, no bloat, nothing loading that doesn't need to.
Measurement connected
Search Console and Bing set up from day one, so there's a record of where you started — not a guess about it later.
Now the part most people selling this would rather you didn't ask about.
Being straight with you
What I won'tpromise.
- A number one position. Nobody honest can promise this. Anyone who does is either guessing, or planning to rank you for a phrase nobody searches. I promise the work and I show you the numbers.
- Results next week. Google usually indexes a new site within days to weeks. Real movement on competitive searches takes months. Your Google listing normally moves fastest.
- Google Ads. That's a different trade and someone else does it better. I'll make sure your site is worth sending traffic to before you spend a dollar on ads.
- A monthly retainer you can't leave. The care plan is optional, three months minimum, then cancel whenever. If nothing needs doing, nothing should be charged.
Which leaves the obvious question. How would you ever know if it worked?

The one number that matters more than all of them is how many people rang you. Everything else is a proxy for it.
One warning before you change a thing.
Already have a site
Don't rebuilduntil you've checked.
Most ranking losses after a rebuild come from one avoidable mistake: page addresses change and nothing points the old ones at the new ones. Years of accumulated credit, thrown away in an afternoon.
So before anything gets touched I record what you currently rank for, keep your addresses where I can, redirect them where I can't, and check the numbers after. That's the whole difference between a careful rebuild and a bad one.
Start by finding out where you actually stand.
